Terms of Reference of Overseas Training

  1. Technique and method of data management

    A.Background and Objectives
      The quality of the databases would directly affect the
efficiency of exploration of the biodiversity information. Today,
the technique and method of data mangement are greatly improved
by technology of computer and system science. One can meet new
products and new idea every day. The objective is to study the
advanced tchnique and method of data mangement of biodiversity
information system.

    B.Sellecting Program
      The trainee must be management engineer in CBIS. Candidates
will fill the Applicatin Form and be recommended by the institute
in which he or she works. The list of candidates will proposed by
the United Working Group and Expert Group of Biodiversity
Information System and approved by the Committee of Biodiversity
of CAS.

    C.Activities
      Both taking Courses or cooperative research is suitable.

    D.Timing
      From the beginning of 1994 and 1995, taking 6 monthes,
respectively.


  2. Advanced technique of modelling

    A.Background and Objectives
      Model base is one of the importent parts of CBIS. The Quality
of model base will directly affect the capability of data analysis
and prediction. New technique can improve not noly the quality of
models, but also the effeciency of modelling. The objective is to
study the advanced technique of modelling.

    B.Sellecting Program
      The trainees must be modeller in CBIS. Candidates will fill
the Applicatin Form and be recommended by the institute in which
he or she works. The list of candidates will proposed by the United
Working Group and Expert Group of Biodiversity Information System
and approved by the Committee of Biodiversity of CAS.

    C.Activities
      Both taking suitable courses or cooperative research.

    D.Timing
      From the beginning of 1994 and the end of 1995,taking 6 months,
respectively.


  3. Methodology of expert system

    A.Background and Objectives
      Expert system is one of importent subsystem of CBIS. It will takes
a great part in making the plan of biodiversity conservation and
management. The structure of knowledge base of expert system and inference
engine will directly affect the effeciency of expert system, hence affect
the capability of its application. The objective is to study the
methodology of expert system to improve the level of building expert
systems.

    B.Sellecting Program
      The trainee must be a expert system developer in CBIS. Candidates
will fill the Applicatin Form and be recommended by the institute
in which he or she works. The list of candidates will proposed by
the United Working Group and Expert Group of Biodiversity
Information System and approved by the Committee of Biodiversity of CAS.

      Both taking Courses or cooperative research is suitable.
